Hazera is one of the breeding companies involved in the annual Summer School ‘Meet the fascinating world of Green Genetics’. This Summer School for BSc-level students is an extensive trip through applied plant science, breeding and seed technology. The group of participants consists of thirty highly motivated students from various universities and life sciences programs.
The program of one week is a mixture of guest lectures and company visits, giving participants a broad view on R&D, breeding and seed technology in seed companies. The Summer School is a proven concept to meet with a selection of interested and motivated students. Many of them will at some stage find their way into our industry for an internship or job in our innovative industry.
The group visited Bejo Zaden in Warmenhuizen. Their schedule included a network meeting with professionals from various seed companies in the Seed Valley region in North Holland. Hazera and Limagrain support and sponsor the Summer School and sent young students of breeding and seed technology to the network meeting. The students were sent home with a box of beautiful fresh products, including Hazera’s new tomato variety Goutine featuring a distinctive, excellent aromatic taste and an attractive appearance in a full size tomato.
